Whom Do We Translate into Spanish?
Review
of the sixth
grade reading level requirement in public communications in the U.S.
and its equivalence in the Spanish of the Latino population.
Representatives of the media, the City, translators and renowned
linguist Ricardo Otheguy, of the City University of New York (CUNY),
will attempt to define the Spanish
language reading population and examine the need for linguistic studies
to provide a disciplined answer to these questions. I |
